FAQ
Is tallow really good for skin?
Yes — and it may be the most skin-compatible moisturizer that exists. Tallow's fatty acid profile closely mirrors your skin's natural sebum, which means it absorbs easily without clogging pores. It's also rich in fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K that support skin health at a cellular level.
Will it smell?
Our whipped tallow has a very light, natural scent from the ingredients themselves. It's not odorless, but it's subtle and fades quickly after application. We don't add fragrance of any kind.
Is it non-comedogenic? Will it clog my pores?
Tallow is non-comedogenic. Unlike many plant oils, it doesn't oxidize easily and is unlikely to clog pores. Many customers with acne-prone skin report improvements after switching to Alovi.
Where is the tallow sourced?
We source exclusively from small farms raising grass-fed, grass-finished cattle. The animals are pasture-raised from birth to finish — no feedlots, no grain finishing.
Can I use it on my face?
Absolutely. Many customers use it as their primary face moisturizer. Start with a small amount — a little goes a long way.
Is it safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. All four ingredients are well-tolerated by sensitive skin. Calendula and manuka honey are both known for their calming, anti-inflammatory properties. If you have a known allergy to any of our ingredients, please consult your doctor before use.
How long does a jar last?
A 2oz jar typically lasts 4–6 weeks with daily use on face and neck. The 4oz jar lasts most customers 2–3 months.
Is Alovi tested on animals?
Never. We are cruelty-free.
